Hosted Fly Fishing Trips

Join us at world-class fishing destinations for the fly fishing adventure of a lifetime

Cattaraugus Creek Outfitters offers anglers a variety of outstanding fly fishing destinations throughout the world. Our hosted trips are carefully selected & planned to assure comfortable accommodations, good food, top guides and most importantly, quality fishing. Whether you choose to fish for wild trout in Montana or Alaska, bonefish & barracuda in the Bahamas, or permit, tarpon & snook in Belize or Mexico, our trips are planned and run exclusively by the CCO staff.  Because of our success and enjoyment at certain locations and lodges, we often return to these same locations year after year. This gives us first-hand knowledge of each area and allows anglers to visit these locations in confidence. But we don’t stop there: we are always looking for new lodges and locations that offer good bargains and excellent fishing.

Our Hosts

For Vince Tobia, it all started over 30 years ago with a passion for fishing in his backyard on Ellicott creek, in Williamsville, New York.  Rock bass, smallmouth & largemouth bass, and northern pike on spinning gear led to trout, salmon and steelhead on the fly throughout Western New York & Montana, and then it was on to bonefish, tarpon and other saltwater species throughout the Bahamas and Mexico. Today Vince & the CCO staff lead anglers out west to Montana & British Columbia, and to the Bahamas, Mexico & the Seychelles in search of exciting flyfishing adventures. Vince resides in Williamsville, New York with his wife Leslie, sons Cenzie & Joe, and daughter Mia.

Trip host Rick Kustich began fly fishing over thirty years ago on the lakes and streams of upstate New York. He has since traveled extensively to experience the finest fly fishing throughout North America but continues to find that some of the best fishing often exists in his own backyard. He is the author of four fly fishing books including the acclaimed Fly Fishing for Great Lakes Steelhead and recently introduced his first DVD.  Rick has also authored numerous articles with accompanying photography for national fly fishing magazines such as Fish & Fly, Fly Fisherman, and Eastern Fly Fishing, and is a regular contributor to two regional publications. Rick provides seminars and schools throughout the year on the Great Lakes steelhead fishery and other fly fishing topics.  Rick is owner and operator of West River Publishing and lives in Grand Island, NY on the banks of the mighty Niagara River.

Trip host Captain Dan Pangaldi is a Certified Casting Instructor with Fly Fishers International. He offers fly casting lessons, speaks at TU chapters and seminars. Dan’s speciality is fly and light tackle fishing for striped bass, bluefish, weakfish, fluke, false albacore and bonito in the bays, inlets, inshore and nearshore waters of New Jersey. Dan has cast a line in waters from Cape Cod to the Lower Florida Keys, Bahamas, Alaska and Russia to name a few. His passion is taking folks fishing and teaching them techniques to be successful and have more fun on the water along with conservation.  Dan lives in Hamilton, New Jersey only a few miles from the Lower Delaware River with his wife Patty.

Trip host Jim Dowd is an avid fresh and saltwater fly fisherman who was introduced to the sport at the early age of 7 by his grandfather, and he started tying flies at age 12.   He is a FFF Certified Fly Casting Instructor and is currently working on the Master Casting Instructor designation.  On his home waters, Jim is a guide specializing in float trips on the Deerfield and other western Massachusetts rivers.   Jim is also a Wilderness First Responder, a Class IV-V Oarsman, Co-author of The Deerfield River Guide and a Life Member and Former Chapter President of his local Trout Unlimited chapter. This summer he took time off to complete the Wyoming Cutthroat Slam, catching four species of cutthroat trout.  Several years ago, on his first visit to Acklins Island, it was love at first sight.    He is now a full-blown bonefish addict!

We understand the investment you are making in travel, and we promise to do our best to ensure that your angling adventure is carefully selected, well planned and rewarding.   Booking a fully guided trip with us doesn't cost any more than booking directly with the lodges.  When you book with us you will receive expert and unbiased trip planning assistance & prompt friendly service.   We look forward to helping you plan your trip.  The success of our business is dependent on our clients booking through us, and we sincerely appreciate you using Cattaraugus Creek Outfitters to plan and book your angling adventure travel.  Our goal is for you to enjoy a hassle-free fishing adventure—hopefully the fishing adventure of your lifetime.

"Hey Dan (Pangaldi) -just wanted to shoot you a note to say thank you for hosting us down on Crooked Island. I really enjoyed the week and was pleased with how everything worked out - I know there's a lot to stay on top of and we had a care-free week down there, which was awesome.  I learned a good deal about my salt-water casting and just had an overall fantastic time with everyone - great crowd, good food, fantastic weather - just what the doctor ordered.  Hope you are settling in back home, and didn't have too much withdrawal from the trip. I dreamt about bonefish for about two more days before I settled into real life again!    Hope to see you next year!"        Ben McCormack
