Acklins Island Outback Lodge

Located on the northern end of Acklins near Lovely Bay, Fedel's Outback Lodge is the perfect place for hardcore anglers who want to experience the great wading for bones that Acklins offers. Fedel's offers both fully guided and DIY packages, as well as a mixture of both during your stay

Acklins Island is one of the most remote, beautiful and pristine areas left in the Bahamas. There are miles of creeks and flats which offer some of the best bonefishing in the Islands. Bonefish on Acklins love knee to ankle-deep water and tail readily on the flats and in the vast creek systems which offer incredible wade fishing opportunities.

Fedel, the head guide and an Acklins Island native, has been fishing the waters around Acklins since he was 12 and still loves every minute of it. Fedel is an accomplished fly angler and an outstanding guide who has been guiding the flats of Acklins for 18 years. Anyone who has had the pleasure to fish with Fedel will tell you he is a knowledgeable, patient guide who is passionate about the sport. When not guiding the flats of Acklins, Fedel spends his off season in New Mexico with his wife Erika.

The lodge, which is a short walk from a beach where bonefish cruise by regularly, accommodates up to 6 guests, two per room. All rooms have comfortable beds, AC, satellite TV, microwave, fridge, wireless internet and a full bathroom. Water in the lodge is filtered by a reverse osmosis system which ensures safe drinking water and salt-free showers. Cell phone networks are available on the island, and a land line phone with a low cost code option is available at the house as well. The lodge has a large open air patio, as well as close access to a beautiful ocean side beach.

The dinner menu is made up of fresh locally caught seafood such as conch, fish and lobster, as well as chicken, with traditional Bahamian fixings. Lunch is packed to take on the water, and includes a sandwich, fruit, chips and snacks. Traditional american breakfasts are served.

All prices are per person based upon double or single occupancy as stated. Rates include accommodations within walking distance to bonefish flats, all meals and non-alcoholic drinks, government room tax, maps of the island, and informational package on DIY Fishing on Acklins Island. Guided days are available. *Our DIY information is designed to get you fishing in productive areas immediately, hastening the learning curve all anglers must go thru when fishing a new, unknown destination without guides.

Terms and Conditions

A deposit of 50% is required within 15 days of booking to confirm a reservation. The balance is due 90 days prior to arrival. Deposit is refundable, less a $100 per person processing fee, if written cancellation is received at least 90 days prior to the trip. A 50% refund will be made to client if written cancellation is received 31-89 days prior to the trip, and no refund will be made if written cancellation is received 30 days or less prior to the trip, unless a substitute angler is found, in which case a full refund will be made less a $100 processing fee. In rare instances with cancellations inside of 90 days, we are able to issue credit to be used for a future trip to the same lodge. In this instance, there is a $200 per person processing fee. Credits are issued at the sole discretion of Cattaraugus Creek Outfitters LLC/CCO Fly Fishing LLC/Bahamas Bonefishing Adventures LLC. Receipt of deposit is acknowledgment that registrant has read and accepts the cancellation/refund and responsibility clauses.

Because many deposits and final payments for trip packages may be non-refundable (see above,) it is highly recommended that you purchase trip insurance in the event that you have to cancel, postpone or reschedule your trip for any reason. This is the only way that we can assist you with compensation for a cancelled trip. Cattaraugus Creek Outfitters LLC/CCO Fly Fishing LLC/Bahamas Bonefishing Adventures LLC acts only as agents for contractors or owners and outfitters, airlines, charter air, and ground transportation carriers or other services. Payment of funds for fishing and other Cattaraugus Creek Outfitters trips shall be deemed acceptance and consent of the following conditions. Cattaraugus Creek Outfitters LLC/CCO Fly Fishing LLC/Bahamas Bonefishing Adventures LLC any of its affiliates or associated companies shall not be held liable for any loss or damages howsoever caused or arising from services provided by hotels or lodges, outfitters, guides, means of transportation or other services. Baggage and personal effects are the sole responsibility of the traveling client at all times.
