More photos coming!
I had the pleasure of showing two very cool people around the island of Eleuthera for several days. Enzo and Holly made the trip down and met me on the island.
They were staying at Unique Village resort, while I stayed down the beach a short distance with my family.
the first day dawned very overcast, and we actually got rained on pretty good while fishing. Despite the conditions, we saw lots of bones and had many excellent shots, and of course landed some too!
The weather over the next several days improved, and we had fun exploring some of eleuthera's nicer flats and beaches in search of bonefish.
Some of the highlights include fishing for tailers on the turtle grass and sand flats. We had some shots at good sized bones, and landed a few nice ones. Our short forays into town to fish for the urban bones. The huge 10' shark we saw, right on shore, a rod length away. Beach bones. The octopus that visited us one day on the flats! see the video!
Holly and Enzo employed the services of my friend and Eleuthera guide Denny Rankin for a day, and he got them into some nice bones up to 7 lbs. At the end of the day, he made fresh conch salad with the conch he picked up while they were fishing. Doesn't get any fresher than that!
I also caught some nice bones right along the beach behind our rented house.
I am thankful I had the opportunity to spend time with my Family on the island, and some great people (Enzo & Holly) who appreciated the beauty that Eleuthera has to offer, and who don't mind the challenges and ups & downs of Do-it-yourself bonefishing fishing.
the photos tell the rest of the story. We'll be back next year.
